Redesign and increase the ad sales, and overall user experience for Dayoo, the biggest online newspaper in the city of Guangzhou

With 20million inhabitants Dayoo reaches 5million daily readers, who with increasing internet exposure demanded a more modern experience.


I created a concept I call "The Snack; bite sized news". By analyzing how people consume information in the city of Guangzhou it became clear most of the readers access content while commuting too and from work and during short lunch breaks.

The snack concept let readers customize the frontpage content based on their individual preferences, giving readers a quick overview of their favorite content.


Concept design and prototype received very favorable reviews from test users, and click rates went up 35%

The new design is approved and will be implemented in a future update.
